Consistent funding is critical to the success of our mission to keep runaway, homeless and at-risk youth safe and off the streets. We work to foster deep relationships with our corporate sponsors to ensure that we are finding new and creative ways to reduce and prevent youth homelessness. Types of Sponsorships
National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM)
November is National Runaway Prevention Month (NRPM), a public awareness campaign designed to “shine a light” on the experiences of runaway and homeless youth, and to spotlight resources available to support youth in crisis throughout the nation. This campaign empowers individuals, organizations and communities to take action and work to prevent youth homelessness. We work with NRPM sponsors to craft events, develop employee giving programs, host presentations, and more. Find out how your company can get involved.
Celebrating the Spirit of Youth
Each year, we celebrate the resilience and perseverance of the young people we serve at our Celebrating the Spirit of Youth fundraising event. Unfortunately, the COVID-19 pandemic resulted in our 2020 event being cancelled. In lieu of gathering together, we asked our partners and donors to help “shine a light” on youth homelessness by supporting our efforts with National Runaway Prevention Month in November. If you are interested in sponsoring future Spirit of Youth galas, let us know.
End Youth Homelessness Today
In November 2019, NRS launched our “End Youth Homelessness Today” campaign with the goal of doubling the number of youth we serve by the end of 2022. This goal remains at the forefront of our work. During the pandemic, the need for our services has increased, and we are proud to say we have risen to meet these unique challenges. Support for NRPM and Celebrating the Spirit of Youth will contribute directly to the fight to End Youth Homelessness Today!
Support raised for the "End Youth Homelessness Today" campaign will:
- Strengthen our technology capacity;
- Enable NRS to utilize data and analytic tools to more efficiently staff our crisis services center and improve allocation of personnel and volunteer resources to meet the crisis services demand over the course of each 24-hour period;
- Enhance our resource database to ensure we have a broad network of local services available for youth and families;
- Expand our training, education and outreach capacities; and
- Build staffing capacity to meet the increase in demand for services.
